Description

Our fourth release of Somerset Tasmanian Single Malt Whisky produced from a spirit with a moderately peated malt blend spirit and aged in an American oak ex-bourbon cask for just over 3 years before a 5 month stint finishing in a PX sherry cask.

Bottled at 46.2% this select double maturation has melded the smoky character of the spirit with the perfect amount of sherry influence.  It bring forth notes of rich stone fruit, spice, and raisins on the nose, followed by a robust body with caramel and stewed fruit dominating the palate before easing to a lingering smoky and fruity finish.

There are only 33 bottles in this release and as with all of our whiskies this release comes with a full document of provenance detailing every step of the whiskies production from brewing to maturation.

If you’ve read our blog about producing our first release of single malt whisky (click here if you haven’t) you’ll know that as much as a whisky can do it told the story of how we got to where we are today.  We think this whisky is a perfect continuation of that story, and a great example of what not following the crowd can bring to the table.
