Description

Our second release of Somerset Tasmanian Single Malt Whisky is a carefully curated blend of samples taken from three un-peated 50 litre American oak casks, one ex-bourbon, one ex-rum, and one that held distilled mead.  Our samples were taken when the barrels ranged between just over 3 years old to just over 4 years old and were blended to bring out a sweet and balanced mix of spice, honey, and malt.

There was a total of 36 bottles in this release and as with all of our whiskies this release comes with a full document of provenance detailing every step of the whiskies production from brewing to maturation.

If you’ve read our blog about producing our first release of single malt whisky (click here) you’ll know that as much as a whisky can do it told the story of how we got to where we are today.  That’s why we thought it would be a good idea to make our second whisky a story of where we are headed with a blend of casks that are on their way to becoming something special that we’ll be releasing in the not to distant future.
